1. Enquiry

We always recommend a face-to-face meeting, ideally on site. This allows us to gain a thorough understanding of a client's goals and suggest alternative solutions if required.

2. Measured survey

The measured survey process involves taking detailed measurements of relevant parts of the building. This allows us to create an accurate set of drawings outlining its existing form.

If a client wants to be present for the measured building survey, we try to arrange it at a convenient time so as to cause minimum interruption to their existing commitments.

3. Scheme proposal

The scheme proposal is the stage where drawings are produced. Depending upon the complexity of a project, we would normally begin with a floor plan to establish that we have satisfied our client's brief.

In some cases we may produce a number of options for clients to consider, as there is usually more than one solution available. Once the floor plans have been agreed we develop the scheme into section and elevation drawings.

4. Planning

If the correct documentation is not provided with the planning application it can cause significant delays in achieving approval. Our extensive knowledge of this process means we know exactly what is required, including any supporting documents that needs to be submitted with the plans. This allows us to get applications registered and approved quickly and efficiently.

5. Detailed Design

We provide detailed construction drawings that a builder can both price accurately against and build from, and achieve a building regulations approval notice with very few conditions. This helps assure builders that they have an accurate set of plans to work with and reduces the risk of additional costs.

6. Build process

We can offer a full post contract service if required, that will include managing the project in its entirety throughout the build stages including; regular site visits, supervising work in progress, managing costs and liaising between the building company and the client. Alternatively any of the above services can be commissioned in isolation if required.

By being involved in the build process we can help ensure that everything runs smoothly. We take a flexible approach, and if a client chooses to work directly with their builder, that’s also fine - in effect we can do as much or as little as our client wants us to.
